ENTRIES WILL BE RECEIVED AT THE GOULBURN SOLDIERS CLUB, ON FRI 11 MARCH 4-6pm, & SAT 12 MARCH, 7.15-9am.  ACCESS IS THROUGH THE CLUB'S REAR DOORWAY VIA THEIR CAR PARK.

SECTION A  –  ROSES
Class:  
1. CITY OF GOULBURN ROSE COMMITTEE CHAMPIONSHIP
  3 Exhibition Roses - distinct, 3 vases;
  1 Vase of Bunch Roses - 5 stems, same cultivar;
  Plus any ONE of the following:
  (a)   1 Vase of Floribunda Roses, 1-6 stems and/or cuts, same cultivar, minimum of 10 blooms, all stages preferred;
  (b)   1 Vase of Floribunda Roses, up to 25 blooms, same cultivar, all stages preferred;
  (c)   1 Vase of Modern Decorative Roses, 4-6 stems and/or cuts, same cultivar, minimum of 10 blooms, all stages preferred;
  (d)   1 Vase of Modern Decorative Roses, 3 stems and/or cuts, same cultivar, all stages preferred;
  (e)   1 Vase of Roses, Bud to Full Bloom, 4 stages, same cultivar.

1 Vase of the 'City of Goulburn' Rose, 1-6 stems and/or cuts, minimum of 10 blooms, all stages preferred. [Jane Pockley Award]

3. 1 Vase of 1 Exhibition Rose.
4. 1 Vase of Bunch Roses, 3 stems, same cultivar.
5. 1 Vase of Modern Decorative Roses, 3 stems and/or cuts, same cultivar, all stages preferred.
6. 1 Vase of Full Bloom Roses, 3 stems, same cultivar.
7. 1 Vase of Roses, Bud to Full Bloom, 4 stages, same cultivar.
8. 1 Vase of Floribunda Roses, 1-6 stems and/or cuts, same cultivar, minimum of 10 blooms, all stages preferred.
9. 1 Vase of Floribunda Roses, up to 25 blooms, same cultivar, all stages preferred.
10. 1 Vase of Miniature Roses, 3 stems and/or cuts, same cultivar, all stages preferred.
11. 1 Vase of Old Fashioned Roses or David Austin Roses or Shrub Roses, 1-6 stems and/or cuts, same cultivar.
12. 1 Vase of a Single Rose, 5-8 petals, 1 stem or cut.
13. Bowl of Roses, minimum of 10 blooms, hips, side buds allowed, viewed all round, NND, 15cm bowl.
14. 1 Vase of an Australian Bred Rose, Standard Unit
   
SECTION B  –  ROSES

15. 1 Vase of  the 'City of Goulburn' Rose, 1 stem and/or cut.
16. 1 Vase of 1 Red Rose.
17. 1 Vase of 1 Pink Rose.
18. 1 Vase of 1 Yellow Rose.
19. 1 Vase of 1 White or Buff Rose.
20. 1 Vase of 1 Rose, Any Other Colour.
21. 1 Vase of 1 Full Bloom Rose.
22. 1 Vase of Floribunda Roses, 3 stems and/or cuts, same cultivar, all stages preferred.
23. 1 Vase of David Austin Roses, 3 stems and/or cuts, NND 
   
SECTION C  –  FLORAL ART 
(This section is not for professional florists. Any embellishments are accepted, unless otherwise stated.  Artificial flowers and foliage are not permitted.)

31. 'Roses & Fairies' - Floral Art - 12 years & under
32. 3 Roses - 13 to 16 years
33 'Roses & Outer Space' - Floral Art - 13 to 16 years

 

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  • Exhibitor to leave displays in place until the end of the show.
  • Roses to be grown by the exhibitor, except for floral arrangements.
  • Roses to be named wherever possible.
  • Containers will be supplied, except for floral arrangements which must be completed prior to entry into auditorium.
  • Wiring is only permitted on exhibition roses.
  • Exhibition roses: a high-centered flower with a circular outline and petals that spiral outwards from the center in a symmetrical manner; blooms are to be shown singly, the presence of a bud or buds will disqualify.
  • Stem: Original new growth which carries a single bloom or bud.
  • Cut: A cut is a stem that carries more than one bloom and/or bud or buds.
  • Distinct: to be a different variety.
  • NND - Not Necessarily Distinct ie. they can be all of the same cultivar, all different cultivars, or a combination of same and different cultivars.
  • Full Bloom Roses: blooms should clearly show stamens and be free of blemish.
  • Bud to Full Bloom:
    • 1st stage: Bud, to show colour, petals not starting to unfurl, and sepals to be disregarded.
    • 2nd stage: Bunch, midway between 1st and 3rd stage.
    • 3rd stage: Exhibition as in an Exhibition Rose.
    • 4th stage: Full Bloom, either full or open according to the cultivar.
